Al Wasl and Ajman Play Out a Goalless Draw in Matchweek 8
A goalless draw marked the clash between Al Wasl and visiting Ajman at Zabeel Stadium on Saturday evening, as part of Matchweek 8 of the ADNOC Pro League.
The match saw a key turning point at the end of the first half when Ajman’s player Walid Azaro was sent off in the 45th minute, forcing “Al-Burkan” to play the second half with ten men. Despite their numerical advantage and attacking dominance, Al Wasl failed to capitalize on the situation.
With this draw, Al Wasl raised their tally to 15 points, settling in fourth place, while Ajman moved to 10 points in ninth place.
The first half was marked by caution from both sides, with Al Wasl showing a slight attacking edge and coming close to scoring on several occasions. However, the lack of clinical finishing, combined with Ajman’s solid defensive performance and the goalkeeper’s saves, kept the score level. The half also witnessed a yellow card for Ajman coach Goran for protesting a referee decision, followed by Azaro’s red card.
In the second half, Al Wasl intensified their pressure and wasted a series of scoring chances, while Ajman’s players put in an exceptional defensive effort to preserve the draw until the final whistle.
