Ajman defeated Dibba 2–0 in the match held today as part of Round 9 of the ADNOC Pro League at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium.
Ajman’s goals were scored by Ismail Momen and Issam Faez in the 78th and 91st minutes respectively.
With this victory, Ajman raised their points tally to 13, moving up to sixth place, while Dibba remained on 3 points at the bottom of the table.
Ajman started strongly, creating an early chance in the 4th minute when Junior Flemings unleashed a powerful shot that was well saved by Dibba goalkeeper Mohammed Salem.
Ajman continued to apply pressure in the 20th minute as Victor Henrique’s shot was parried by Mohammed Salem, before Ismail Momen followed up with a header that went just over the crossbar.
Just before halftime, in the 43rd minute, Ajman missed their clearest opportunity of the first half when Victor Henrique fired a shot from inside the penalty area narrowly wide of the right post.
At the start of the second half, Mohammed Salem maintained his impressive performance, denying Junior Flemings once again in the 51st minute with a fine save from inside the box.
Dibba nearly took the lead in the 64th minute through a header by Adakol Benedict, which went just wide of Ali Al Hosani’s goal.
Ajman finally broke the deadlock in the 78th minute when Ismail Momen scored with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area. With this goal, the total number of goals scored by Moroccan players in the ADNOC Pro League this season rose to 20.
Issam Faez sealed the win for Ajman in stoppage time, scoring the second goal in the 91st minute with a close-range finish inside the box.
