Ajman Claims Valuable Win Over Sharjah

Ajman secured a 1–0 victory against Sharjah in the match held today at Sharjah Stadium, concluding Round 4 of the ADNOC Pro League. Walid Azaro scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute.

This win lifted Ajman’s tally to 6 points, placing them in 8th position, while Sharjah dropped to 10th with 4 points.

The first half saw Ajman in full control, with 51% possession compared to Sharjah’s 48%.

The match was intense from the start, as Sharjah defender Mario Katinić nearly caused an own goal in the 11th minute after a misdirected back pass to his goalkeeper, Darwish Mohammed, who cleared the ball just in time from Junior Flemmings.

Ajman continued to dominate and almost took the lead in the 12th minute through a header by Walid Azaro, which Katinić cleared brilliantly off the goal line. Darwish then denied a powerful long-range strike from Dimitri Silva in the 26th minute with a double save.

Two minutes before the halftime whistle, Dimitri came close again after dribbling near the edge of the penalty area and unleashing a shot that narrowly missed to the left of Ajman’s goal.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, both managers made attacking substitutions—three for Sharjah and two for Ajman—in search of the opener.

Flemmings wasted a golden chance in the 64th minute when he went one-on-one with the goalkeeper but sent the ball wide to Darwish Mohammed’s right.

In the 67th minute, Walid Azaro turned savior for his team at the other end, clearing a header from Majed Hassan off the goal line to deny a certain goal.

Just three minutes later, Serbian playmaker Dino Hotić delivered a brilliant through ball that set Azaro free, and the Moroccan striker made no mistake, slotting it past Darwish Mohammed in the 70th minute to seal Ajman’s win.
